The Team Leader, Post Care Services is a fantastic leadership opportunity to positively impact clients of the Post Care Support Services by delivering high quality responsive client services, within budget and on time. The right candidate for this role is computer savvy, and uses innovation and systems to ensure progressive, efficient and effective operations within their team.

You will work collaboratively with the Manager of Elm Place, Practice Managers of Trauma Counselling and Clinical Psychology and staff to strengthen case management support to people who have experienced out-of-home-care in South Australia for a period of 6 months or more. The Team Leader ensures collaborative services with Department of Child Protection, Youth Justice and relevant community services to enhance services to post care clients during their transition from care and in adult life.

You are a skilled communicator in leading your team, coaching your team members, and maintaining effective networks. Your knowledge of program delivery, complex client needs and strategic focus will be the key to your leadership success. The Team Leader ensures that the work and direction of the Post Care Services meets organisational and contractual requirements and works closely with other Elm Place services such as Find & Connect and the Royal Commission Community based Support Service.

Position Description

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree (AQF Level 7) in Social Work or a relevant tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7) with demonstrated knowledge and competencies appropriate to Social Work.
  • Experience in leadership and understanding of service provision.
  • Extensive experience working with complex client matters.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with vulnerable people using trauma informed practices.
  • A DCSI - Child Related Employment Screening Clearance and National Police Clearance is essential and employment is not able to commence without current clearances.

Desirable

  • Experience in child centered approach.
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal communities, families and services.
  • Experience in working with families and children experiencing domestic violence and child abuse and neglect.
